Vanadium in its elemental form is a blue – silver color metal. Vanadium is a hard and ductile transition metal that is primarily used as a steel additive and in many alloys. Vanadium is not found free in nature and when isolated Vanadium forms an oxide layer which will stabilize the free metal against further oxidation.
