Ti 6Al-4V ELI Titanium Alloy
(Ti6-4 ELI, Grade 23)
Ti-6Al-4V ELI Titanium Alloy (also known as Ti6-4 ELI and Grade 23) is the extra low interstitial variant of Ti6Al4V. It is one of the most widely used Titanium Alloys in the Bio-medical industry. It is certified to ASTM F136 and is commonly referred to as implant grade 6-+1 Titanium. The combination of low weight, durability and corrosion resistance make Ti6Al4V ELI the perfect meal for medical devices and implants.
The main difference between Ti6Al4V ELI (Grade 23) and Ti6Al4V (Grade 5) is that in ELI (Extra Low Interstitials) the maximum oxygen content is lowered to 0.13%. This gives the material an improved fracture toughness and fatigue strength.
